Frequently asked questions

What students, parents and teachers ask us most often about the practice tests, coverage and progress.

Is MCQz free to use?

Yes. Every chapter test, full book test and explanation on MCQz is free, and there is no paid tier. The site is funded by advertising.

Do I need an account to practise?

No. You can open any chapter and start a test straight away. An account is only needed if you want your progress tied to you rather than to this browser.

Which boards are covered right now?

All nine Punjab boards — Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Multan, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan and Sahiwal. The Punjab boards share one syllabus and paper pattern, so the same chapter tests serve every one of them. Sindh, KPK, Federal and Cambridge are still being built.

Which classes and subjects are available?

Currently 9th, 10th and 11th class. Depending on the class that covers Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science and Islamiat, with more subjects being added.

Can I practise in Urdu?

Yes. Questions, options and explanations are available in both English and Urdu, and you can switch medium with the toggle on any chapter or test page.

How is a test scored?

The server marks each answer as you submit it and calculates your score as a percentage of the questions in the test. Nothing is scored in your browser, so the result cannot be altered by reloading the page.

Do I get to see the correct answers and explanations?

After you submit a test you get a full review: your score, every question you attempted, which were right and wrong, the correct option for each, and the explanation where one exists.

Is my progress saved if I do not sign up?

Yes. Progress is saved against a random identifier stored in a cookie in this browser, so you can close the tab and come back. Clearing your browser cookies will lose that progress.

What happens to my progress when I create an account?

Your guest progress is merged into the account, so the tests you already took stay in your history rather than starting over.

Are the questions based on my textbook?

Questions are written chapter by chapter against the Punjab curriculum and textbook chapters, in the MCQ format the boards use. They are original practice material, not past papers.

I think a question is wrong. How do I report it?

Email info@mcqz.pk with the board, class, subject and chapter, and the question text. Reports are checked against the textbook and corrected or removed.

Does MCQz work on a phone?

Yes. MCQz runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, and needs no app install.

Why does MCQz show ads?

Ads pay for the hosting, question writing and review that keep the site free for every student. Ads do not influence which questions appear or what the explanations say.

How do I delete my account and data?

Email info@mcqz.pk from the address on the account and ask for deletion. The account and its test history are removed.
