11th class Chemistry is a bigger course than the Matric years — sixteen chapters, opening on the periodic table, atomic structure and chemical bonding, then stoichiometry and states of matter, energetics, kinetics and equilibrium. From there it moves through acid-base chemistry and electrochemistry into hydrocarbons, nitrogen and sulfur and the halogens, and closes on the atmosphere, separation techniques and laboratory safety.

The early chapters on atomic structure and bonding do a lot of work: they are what makes the later physical chemistry make sense rather than have to be memorised. Every chapter has a test of its own, and a full book test covers the course end to end.

Questions about 11th Class (Intermediate Part 1) Chemistry

How does the 11th class Chemistry course compare with Matric?

It is substantially larger and more quantitative — sixteen chapters against thirteen in 10th class, with more calculation and more abstract theory in atomic structure, bonding, energetics and equilibrium.

Is there a test for each chapter?

Yes. Each of the sixteen chapters has its own test, and a full book test draws on all of them together.
